Attendee information

The Third International Conference on Men’s Issues (@ICMI17) is being held over three days: Friday, June 9, Saturday June 10 and Sunday June 11, 2017 in Gold Coast, Australia.

There will be seven speakers on Saturday and Seven speakers on Sunday, each followed by a Q & A with the audience. To kick things off on Friday there will be a screening of The Red Pill Movie, followed by an address from director Cassie Jaye and a Q & A with several members of the cast. The day will be capped off with a traditional hangi in the evening.

Network with Fellow MHRAs

Provided you arrive early, you will have over eight hours during the two days to mingle with other attendees and to network with Men’s Human Rights Advocates. If you attend the hangi and/or any of the evening social gatherings you will have additional time to socialize and network with other like-minded people.

Travel and Hotel information

If you are flying, we recommend that you fly into Gold Coast Airport, (formerly known as Coolangatta Airport) (OOL).

When you’ve purchased and received your e-ticket, you will receive a list of hotels which we hope will meet your various needs. To make it easy for you to move between hotels and the venue, we have chosen hotels within convenient proximity of he venue.

Communication

When you purchase your ticket you will be subscribed to a mailing list for attendees and an email address will be provided for conference inquiries. The mailing list will be used to provide useful information leading up to the event.

The Venue

The name and address of the venue will be announced the week before the conference via the mailing list.

Registration

To register at the conference venue, you need to bring a printed copy of the e-ticket or to be able to show it on your cell phone or tablet and show government issued photo ID which gives the same details as you provided when you purchased your ticket.

Registration will take place on Friday 9 June from 11:00 am to the close of the day. An additional table will be open for registration from 8:00 am to the close of the day on both Saturday and Sunday. If you are coming for both Saturday and Sunday, you can register on the Friday, or Saturday. Please attend to registration promptly so that activities are not disrupted.

The Ticket Price

The ticket price includes a light breakfast in the morning and full lunch. Additional refreshments for sale will include a choice of coffees and teas, soft drinks, water, soda, plus chips and other snacks and cookies.

Please note that all ticket sales are final and refunds cannot be made.

Evening events

There will be two events for attendees to meet and mingle with the speakers and AVfM staff in the evening.

The hangi on Friday costs is an additional charge of $20 US per person and is available here when you buy tickets.

Admission to the hangi is by pre-purchased ticket only. Tickets for either or both events can be booked at the same time as you purchase your conference ticket or later.

Purchasing your Conference ticket and extras

Before purchasing your ticket, please ensure that you read the Attendee Policy as, by having bought a ticket, you will be deemed to have agreed to abide by the terms of the policy and to understand that if you do not do so, your badge may be revoked and you will be asked to leave the conference.

We have provided a web store for you to purchase your ticket and any of the extras which you choose. You can use a PayPal account or a debit/credit card.

Please ensure that if you revisit the store to buy extras, you use the same email address with which you purchased your ticket.

You will be asked for your legal name, that which is shown on the government-issued photo ID which you will present at registration with the e-ticket.

However, we recognize that many of you will prefer to have another name printed on your badge for privacy reasons, or because it is the name which you have become known by in the MHRM. Therefore, you will be able to enter your “badge name” as well as your legal name but only your badge name will shown on the badge. If you do not enter a specific badge name, your legal name will be printed on the badge.

Once you have purchased your ticket, you will receive an e-ticket by email. If you subsequently purchase any of the extras, the e-ticket will be re-issued. If you have purchased more than one ticket, you need to ensure that each person has a copy of the e-ticket so that they can show the ticket at registration.

† purchased by PayPal or debit/credit card at the door via the online web store

We look forward to meeting again those men and women who came to earlier ICMI conferences and to meeting those attending the International Conference on Men’s Issues for the first time.
